The circus is coming to town this weekend! The Super American Circus will be performing seven shows throughout the weekend at the Calvo Field House in Mangilao.
The Super American circus is back on Guam under the direction of Cornell “Tuffy” Nicholas who last brought a team of entertainers to the island more than 10 years ago.
“We’ve been planning to come back for about 10 years and we finally put it together. Love Guam! Love the Guamanian people and its just a blast to be here! I’m so stoked about this incredible cast, unbelievable talent, and good looking people too!” Nicholas said.
Ringmaster Elaine has a theater background and she’ll take center stage as the ringmaster for the shows
“The name of the show is Super Heroes Live. And we have a lot of super talent as well. You might see some of your favorite characters. I’m really excited to get into the ring. We have a really great team here and I’m really excited to work with all these talented artists,” Elaine said.
Among the talented performers is Tammy FireFly, an aerial artist who performs acrobatics with hula hoops and live fire suspended in the air.
“I’m super excited to be here on island. I’ve never been to Guam. And how can we complain? We have beautiful tropical weather, lots of coconuts and amazing company,” Tammy FireFly said.
Sasha Arestov and his brother Ivan are originally from Russia and they perform on unicycles.
“I professionally started performing when I was 10. But I started practicing way before then, ever since the age of around 3 or 4. My brother actually started performing at the age of 6 and we work a unicycle act together,” Sasha Arestov said.
The show kicks off Friday night at 7:30 p.m. inside the Calvo Field House followed by three shows on Saturday and three shows on Sunday.
You can buy tickets at the door or online at www.superamericancircus.com. General admission ticket prices range from $35 for adults to $16 for children. Ringside seats go for $65 dollars.
