In order to provide better accessibility to quality healthcare, The Medical City opened its Guam referral office earlier today.
Located in the Ran-Care Commercial building in Tamuning along South Marine Corps Drive, The Medical City’s referral office would give patients in the region the opportunity to seek specialized care from any of the facilities in The Medical City’s network, which spans throughout the Philippines.
According to The Medical City CEO Dr. Eugene Ramos, the role of the office is to provide seamless continuity of care to patients, which involves making sure that there is clear communication between doctors and taking care of other elements of preparing for off-island treatment.
“We facilitate things in terms of travel and endorsements there. So that when they leave the island and go to Manila, everything is taken care of. The most important thing there, other than navigation, is the experience. The total experience. The patient’s fear and uncertainties have to be taken care of,” Dr. Ramos said.
Services that The Medical City’s network provides include cardiovascular care, neuroscience, surgery, cancer care, and transplants.
According to Dr. Michael Cruz, the CEO of the Guam Regional Medical City, the office would help exercise The Medical City’s philosophy of focusing on quality of care.
“To us as human beings, what is most important to us is that healthcare is personal. That partnership isn’t just a business partnership, but a true partnership where you get the sense that you feel like they care,” Dr. Cruz said.
The referral office will be open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you are interested in contacting the office, call 988-8627.
