The Roadwork Ahead for the Week of August 30 – September 5

Guam – The Guam Department of Transportation has released the following list of road construction projects that may create some traffic delays in the week ahead. ROUTE 1 (Yigo)
Motorists continue to be advised that travel lanes on Marine Corps Drive are restricted to one lane for both the southbound and northbound directions at Wusstig Road.  Motorists should anticipate delays and increased travel time when traveling to and from Anderson.

ROUTE 25 (Alageta Road)
Alegeta road will continue to be closed to all but local traffic from Uhang Street to Chalan Galak Street.  Motorists traveling to and from Route 16 will need to use the detours on Kalamasa Street and Ahau Street.  Motorists should anticipate increase travel time and short delays due to the partial road closure and detour.  Motorists continue to be advised to follow the detour signs and reduce their speed on the local streets.

ROUTE 4 (from McDonalds to Route 10)

Construction work is progressing on Route 4 at the Tutujan (Sinajana) intersection.  The contractor is anticipating moving traffic to the newly completed portion of the road.  Motorists are advised to be aware of changing traffic patterns and lane configurations due to this change.  Traffic will continue to be restricted to one lane in each direction on Route 4 and motorists should anticipate increased travel times and delays.

ROUTE 8/10/16 (Tri-Intersection)
Construction work continues on the Tiyan side of Route 8 and Route 16.  Traffic lanes continue to be restricted to one lane in each direction for motorists traveling toward Hagatna and Harmon.  Motorists should anticipate delays and increased travel time at the Tri-Intersection due to this construction work.

Travel lanes on the Route 10 leg of the Tri-Intersection continues to be restricted to one lane in each direction for persons traveling to and from Mangilao. Motorists should anticipate delays and increased travel time for these lane restrictions.

Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes and consider car pooling with friends and coworkers until this construction at this intersection is completed.

ROUTE 16 (Barrigada Post Office Intersection)
Construction work continues on Route 16 at the intersection with the Barrigada Post Office.  Motorists continue to be advised of the shift in travel lanes for the construction work and are requested to reduce their speeds and follow the construction signs when traveling through the construction area.
