Guam – The Guam Department of Public Works has released the following list of road construction projects that may cause traffic delays in the week ahead.
TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Monday August 19 – Sunday August 25
Route 1/ 8 (Hagåtña Bridges)
Motorists traveling through this area are advised to be aware of new lane configurations, lane shifts and detours:
Route 1 between Route 4 and Route 8 is reduced to two lanes in each direction.
Route 1 will be reduced to one lane in each direction nightly between 8:30 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. through September 13.
Route 4 at the intersection of Route 1 will also have lane closures nightly between 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. through September 13.
Motorists are advised to drive cautiously through construction zones and observe all posted speed limit and construction signs. Alternative routes and/or adjusting drive times when feasible are encouraged.
Route 4 Ylig Bridge (Yona)
Construction work on Route 4 Ylig Bridge continues this week with construction at the Aguon Road intersection. Lane closures and new traffic detours to Manengon may be required for the safety of motorists traveling in the area. Motorists should expect intermittent traffic delays. The temporary bridge and detour remains open to traffic with a posted 15 MPH speed limit.
Route 4 Widening & Resurfacing (Ylig Bridge to Pago Bay to Route 17)
The contractor will continue to work through the week. Due to the proximity of the construction work to travel lanes, intermittent traffic delays and lane closures may be required for the safety of motorists traveling in the area. Motorists should observe the posted speed limit and all construction signs.
