The Roadwork Ahead: Monday July 29 – Sunday August 4

Guam – The Guam Department of  Public Works has released the following list of road construction projects that may cause traffic delays in the week ahead.

 

                            TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Monday June 29 –  Sunday August 4

Route 1/ 8 (Hagåtña Bridges)
Motorists traveling through this area are advised to be aware of new lane configurations, lane shifts and detours:
Route 1 between Route 4 and Route 8 is reduced to two lanes in each direction.
Route 1 will be reduced to one lane in each direction nightly between 8:30 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.
Route 4 at the intersection of Route 1 will also have lane closures nightly between 8:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

Motorists are advised to drive cautiously through construction zones and observe all posted speed limit and construction signs. Alternative routes and/or adjusting drive times when feasible are encouraged.

Route 4 Ylig Bridge (Yona)
Construction work on Route 4 Ylig Bridge continues this week with installation of the new waterline. Due to the proximity of the construction work to travel lanes, intermittent traffic delays and lane closures may be required for the safety of motorists traveling in the area. The temporary bridge and detour remains open to traffic with a posted 15 MPH speed limit. Motorists should observe the posted speed limit and all construction signs.

Route 4 Widening & Resurfacing (Ylig Bridge to Pago Bay to Route 17)
Contractor will be working though the week. Due to the proximity of the construction work to travel lanes, intermittent traffic delays and lane closures may be required for the safety of motorists traveling in the area. Motorists should observe the posted speed limit and all construction signs.
