Guam – The Guam Department of Public Works has released the following list of road construction projects that may cause traffic delays in the week ahead.
TRAFFIC ADVISORY for Monday June 16 – Sunday June 22
Motorists are advised to drive cautiously through all construction zones and observe all posted speed limit and construction signs. Alternative routes and/or adjusting drive times when feasible are encouraged.
Route 1/ 8 (Hagåtña Bridges)
Motorists traveling through this area are advised to be aware of new lane configurations, lane shifts and detours:
Chalan Santo Papa roadway will be closed to all through traffic at Agana River Bridge starting June 13. Roadway closure will last approximately eight months while the existing bridge is being removed and replaced. Local traffic will be allowed to access properties adjacent to the bridge work. Detours will be posted to route traffic around roadway closure.
Marine Corps Drive between Route 4 and Route 8 will have all travel lanes open during daytime.
Marine Corps Drive between Chamorro Village and the Mitsubishi dealership, Route 8 between Chalan Santo Papa and Marine Corps Drive, and Route 4 between Chalan Santo Papa and Marine Corps Drive will be intermittently reduced to one lane in each direction between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. for striping.
Route 17, Phase 2A
Motorists traveling through this area are advised to be aware of new lane configurations, lane shifts, detours and expect two-way traffic to be reduced to flagger controlled one lane, one-way traffic during daytime road construction operations.
Route 4 Ylig Bridge (Yona)
Intermittent construction work at the Ylig Bridge continues this week with the installation of miscellaneous roadside works. The activities may change as the weather or other conditions permit.
Route 1 Asan & Aguada Bridges Rehabilitation
One lane in each direction at the Aguada and Asan Bridges sites are closed. Motorists should expect intermittent traffic delays during the daylight hours while the contractor is working.
Route 4 Togcha River to Ipan Beach Park
Two-way traffic may be reduced to flagger controlled one lane, one-way traffic intermittently during daytime road construction operations. Motorists should expect intermittent traffic delays as the contractor is working.
Route 4, Agfayan Bridge Replacement (Inarajan)
The contractor is working at the Agfayan Bridge located south of the Inarajan pier (facing Bear Rock). Motorists should expect intermittent traffic delays during the day. A temporary traffic signal is installed and there is one-lane, one-way traffic at this time.
