Guam – The Guam Department of Public Works has released the following list of road construction projects that may cause traffic delays in the week ahead.
TRAFFIC ADVISORY: October 14 – October 20
Route 1/ 8 (Hagåtña Bridges)
Motorists traveling through this area are advised to be aware of new lane configurations, lane shifts and detours:
Route 1 between Route 4 and Route 8 is reduced to two lanes in each direction during daytime hours.
Southbound lanes on Route 1 east of the Route 8 intersection will be reduced to one lane nightly between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.
Northbound lanes on Route west of the Route 4 intersection will be reduced to one lane nightly between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.
Westbound lanes on Route 8 will have intermittent lane closures between Chalan Santo Papa and Route 1 on Saturday, October 19 between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Route 4 Ylig Bridge (Yona)
Construction work on the Ylig Bridge continues this week with hot mix asphalt paving of the intersection at Aguon Road. Other works include the construction of road approaches onto the new bridge along Route 4 and removal of the temporary bridge. Lane closures and traffic detours may be required for the safety of motorists traveling in the area. The new bridge is now open with a posted sign of 15 MPH speed limit for the next few weeks as the contractor completes the work.
Agfayan Bridge Replacement (Inarajan)
The contractor is working at the Agfayan Bridge located south of the Inarajan pier (facing Bear Rock). Motorists should observe the posted speed limit and all construction signs and expect intermittent traffic delays during the day.
