Guam – The Guam Department of Public Works has issued the following update on road contruction projects that may cause traffic delays in the week ahead.

Route 1 in Yigo
Construction work continues at the intersection of Chalan Lujuna and Marine Corps Drive.  Drivers should anticipate lane closures and delays while the median islands are being built on Route 1.

Construction continues at the intersection of Wusstig Road and Marine Corps Drive.  Drivers should anticipate changing lane configurations, daytime lane closures and short delays.

Route 25 Alageta Road
Alageta Road continues to be closed to all but local traffic from Kalamasa Drive to Route 26.  Drivers are advised to observe and follow the detour signs that reroute the traffic to the local streets.  Persons using these detours are requested to reduce their speeds on the local streets being used for detours.

Route 4 from McDonalds to Route 10
Route 4 traffic lanes at the Tutujan (Sinajana) intersection continues to be restricted to one lane in each direction.  Drivers are requested to follow the construction signs that merge traffic into the open thru lane.  Drivers should allow extra travel time on this section of Route 4 due to the reduced lanes for traffic.

Route 8/10/16 (Tri-Intersection)
Construction continues on the Route 8, Route 10 and Route 16 legs of the Tri-intersection.  Traffic lanes continue to be restricted to one lane in each direction of travel.  Motorists using this intersection should anticipate delays, increased travel times and should consider alternate routes to reduce congestion and delays.

Route 4 (Yona)
Construction continues on Route 4 north of Yona near the lookout.  Lanes for traffic heading up and down the hill from the lookout are restricted to one lane in each direction.  Drivers are requested to follow the construction signs that shift traffic into a single lane and reduce their speeds in the construction area.

Route 2 (Umatac)
Drivers traveling on Route 2 between Agat and Umatac are advised that traffic lanes have been shifted at the Cetti River.  This lane shift is downhill from the Cetti Bay lookout.  Drivers are advised to follow the construction signs for the shifting lanes and reduce their speeds in the construction area.

Route 17 (Talofofo)
Construction work on Route 17 from Route 4 to Route 4A will begin.  Drivers using this cross island road are advised that lane restrictions for construction will be necessary.  Drivers are advised to watch out for the construction operations and reduce their speeds in the construction areas.
