The Roadwork Ahead: November 8 – 14

Guam -The Department of Public Works has released the following list of  road construction projects that may cause traffic trouble in the week ahead. Route 1 in Yigo
Construction work at the intersection of Marine Corps Drive and Wusstig Road continues.  Most of the construction activity will be on the Wusstig Road portion of the intersection.  Drivers should anticipate daytime lane closures and short delays at Wusstig Road and on Marine Corps Drive.

Route 25 Alageta Road
Construction continues on the roadway and drainage improvements on Route 25 (Alageta Road).  Drivers are advised that the section of Alageta Road is closed to all but local traffic from Kalamasa Drive to Route 26.  Persons traveling to and from the airport are advised to use the detours on Kalamasa Street and Ahau Street.  Drivers using these detours are requested to slow down on the local roads and be aware of traffic entering the detour routes from adjoining streets and driveways.

Route 4 from McDonalds to Route 10

Traffic lanes on Route 4 at the Tutujan (Sinajana) intersection are restricted to one lane in each direction for traffic heading to and from Hagatna.  Drivers traveling on the section of Route 4 should anticipate delays and increased travel time due to the reduced lanes.

Route 8/10/16 (Tri-Intersection)
Construction work continues on the roadway and concrete pavement on the Route 10 leg of the Tri-Intersection.  Traffic lanes will continue to be restricted to one lane in each direction on Route 10.  Drivers should anticipate delays and substantially increased travel time due to the reduced lanes and construction work.

Traffic lanes on Route 8 and Route 16 will continue to be restricted to one lane in each direction.  Drivers traveling thru the Tri-Intersection on Route 8 and 16 should anticipate long delays.  Drivers are encouraged to find alternate routes to alleviate congestion at this intersection.

Route 4 (Yona)
Construction work continues on Route 4 north of Yona near the lookout.  The uphill lane of traffic is restricted to one lane and the downhill lane of traffic has been shifted to the left.  Drivers traveling to and from Yona are advised to follow the construction signs for the shifting lanes and anticipate delays and increased travel time due to this construction.

Route 2 (Umatac)
Drivers traveling on Route 2 south of Agat and north of Umatac are advised that travel lanes have been moved to the north side of the roadway at Cetti River.  This detour on Route 2 is just down the hill and east of the Cetti Bay Overlook.  Drivers are advised to observe the construction signs placed in advance of the shifted lanes and to reduce their speeds on this section of Route2.  The advised speed limit thru the construction area is 25 miles per hour.
