Numerous food donations were made for the Thanksgiving feast at Chamorro Village to continue the tradition of Thanksgiving donations, in order to help the less fortunate.
Guam – Several food donations including two-thousand dollars worth of baked goods were made to the Salvation Army Food Bank yesterday in anticipation of their annual Thanksgiving Feast, which takes place on Thanksgiving Day at the Chamorro Vilalge.
In addition to about two-thousand dollars worth of bakery items donated by Celebrity Bakery, Quality Distributors also made donations of rice and luncheon meats by the pallet to the Salvation Army Food Bank. This is the fifteenth consecutive year that Quality Distributors has partnered with the Salvation Army to make Thanksgiving food donations.
Ed Lai, Sales and Marketing Manager of Quality Distributors adds how the donations to the Salvation Army are important for the island at this time of the year.
“We like to think that around this time of year the holidays, we can not forget about the less fortunate out there so, maybe we can make the tradition to donate some foods, especially for the Chamorro Village party that the Salvation Army is putting together for the less fortunate, so they can have with us over two-thousand bags of rice and over two-thousand cans of luncheon meat. And following that we also have Celebrity Bakery partnered with donating over two-thousand dollars worth of bakery items,” said Lai.
Lai continues by saying, “This is our fifteenth year that we’ve partnered with Salvation Army, so we’re very proud to be part of it.”
The annual Thanksgiving Feast will be held at Chamorro Village starting at 10 a.m. and going until 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. For more information, you can call the Salvation Army’s main number at 477-9872/73.
