Governor Joseph Flores Memorial Beach Park was packed with thousands of Government of Guam employees and their families on Sunday in celebration of the annual Labor Day picnic.

With the smell of barbecue in the air and some musical favorites being played, canopies and fiesta tables were spread throughout Ypao Park in Tumon all represented by the various GovGuam agencies.

Some of the featured highlights for the picnic included live entertainment, rides and games for the kids and a table decorating competition. Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero said a quality, competent, capable and educated workforce is very crucial to the success of the island and she wished everyone a happy labor day.

“I am just very impressed and very honored with the talents that we have here and the hard-working employees that we have both in the public sector and in the private sector. And the main agenda is to bring services to our island. So, I just want to wish everyone a happy labor day and for me, every day is employee day. Thank you!” the governor said.
