Get splashed with color while running? How cool is that?!
The folks at Triple J bring you “These Colors Run” 5K event this Saturday. Organizers say it’s bigger and better than ever! Marketing Director Kris Lujan says this year, they’re bringing in 1000 lbs of color!
Lujan says, “Before they reach the finish line, they will be going through three paint-blasting stations.”
Lujan says they can guarantee that participants will be happy, have fun and not worry about getting messy! Last year, the event raised $30-thousand and this year, they hope to gain even more for beneficiaries Guam Cancer Care and Guam Boy Scouts.
Guam Cancer Care Terry Cuabo says, “We want to push for the community to take a more proactive step towards their health. We want to use the funds we get from Triple J from this event to push for prevention and activities, to get more awareness for our people, to beat cancer at the earlier stages so the survivability rate is much higher.”
Boy Scouts of America Aloha Council District Executive Derek Cepeda says, “It’s really a way to get boys active in the community. In a nutshell, one unit did 4000 hours of community service. One unit in one year. That all goes to different beneficiaries. Now imagine the impact if we get more of the youth involved. That’s a lot of good.”
Sign up at all Triple J Auto Group locations!
If you’re part of the first 2000 to register, you will get a shirt! The race starts at Triple J’s main location in upper Tumon and proceeds north on Route 1. Showtime is 5:15 am, go time is 6 am. Have fun!
