Black Friday is here! Whether you’re braving the shopping malls, big retail stores or browsing online at home, there are deals everywhere!

It’s the day after Thanksgiving, while some people chose to stay home after eating all that good fiesta food, others woke up early to shop till they drop on the busiest shopping day of the year: Black Friday. Thousands of residents were expected to take advantage of the GovGuam day off to get in some shopping. Some stores opened up as early as 6 am or 8 am but our first stop, Kmart, started a day early with a Thanksgiving Sale.

Kmart GM Mike Fleissner said, “It was extremely busy, we started yesterday at 6 in the morning. Being a 24 hour store, runs straight through for us all the way until Sunday. It’s important for us to have what the people are looking for so we appreciate all the business. It’s busy, best time of the year.”

Next up, we visited the Micronesia Mall. We asked the assistant general manager what Black Friday deals they have to offer for shoppers.

Micronesia Mall Assistant GM Fred Yamon said, “Feel free to come over, we are inviting everybody to shop at the mall, we’ve got some good deals at the individual stores. Happy Thanksgiving everybody.”

Off to the Guam Premier Outlet, our last stop, and where we met Miss Rhoda. She shared with us her shopping technique.

She said, “Take a look at the sale items like my favorites bags, shoes, what have you. Christmas shopping for family and friends.”

Businesses have been anticipating this Black Friday! If you slept in, were busy, or worked this morning, don’t worry! Some retailers will still have their deals tonight and through the weekend! Oh and don’t forget! Cyber Monday! So do you research and shop away!
