Changes for school time were made for high school students under the Guam Department of Education’s online learning program.
E-mails obtained by PNC were sent stating that starting October 19, the new time change is from 8 am to 3 pm.
According to the emails, the decision was made based on discussions between the Guam Federation of Teachers and the GDOE management team.
This has caused mixed reactions from numerous teachers. Some are against the changes, saying they were not given opportunities for input while others say it’s not a huge issue. Teachers also refused to comment and go on record until after the school meetings.
There are meetings scheduled to discuss the new time schedule starting with George Washington High School at 6 pm tonight.
PNC reached out to GRT and GDOE for comment but no response was given as of news time.
