Toddler in vehicle during busted meth transaction

On November 19, 2021, the Guam Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Section (CIS) was conducting a follow-up investigation in the Dededo area when detectives came across two suspicious vehicles parked in the parking lot of a village store known to have been closed for several months.

CIS detectives observed an exchange between a male and female who were identified to
be Rodrigo Torres Cruz and Maria Evelyn Alano Dimla.

A toddler was identified to be in one of the vehicles while a transaction was taking place.

An undetermined amount of crystal methamphetamine and U.S. currency was seized as a
result of the investigation.

Rodrigo Torres Cruz was arrested for Illegal Possession of a Controlled Substance and
Distribution while Maria Evelyn Alano Dimla was arrested for Illegal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Child Abuse.

Both Cruz and Dimla were confined at the Department of Corrections and the toddler was
relinquished to Child Protective Services.
