Guam – Representatives from the Guam Regional Medical City announce that a Topping off Ceremony for the island’s first private hospital will be held on July 30, at 8am. The event marks a milestone in the construction phase of the hospital expected to be complete in 2014.
“We are pleased to have completed a major portion of the construction of the hospital facility and want to celebrate our progress with our partners on the construction team, business community, stakeholders and our Guam family,” said Gloria Long, GRMC’s Chief Operating Officer. “We have arrived at this juncture because of everyone’s support of GRMC and we are truly grateful.”
The announcement of the winner of the Artist Competition will also be revealed at the ceremony. Thirteen artists have been invited to participate in the final phase of the Guam Regional Medical City’s $70,000 art competition.
The $215 million project which began last November is expected to provide a new state-of-the-art, modern hospital facility with the addition of the much needed 130 hospital beds, and health services for patients needing primary and specialty care to include cardiology, medical oncology, endocrinology, pulmonology and neurology.
