Manenggon, Guam – The 2013 Guam Women’s Fast-Pitch League kicked off Sunday with Baby Bottomed Out taking on the Tough Chicks in the opening 4:30pm game. Baby Bottomed Out would jump out to an early 6-1 lead but the Tough Chicks would put together a thirteen run 2nd inning to take control of the game and roll to a 24-9 mercy rule in 5 innings.
In the opening game of the season both teams shook of rust and errors and came out swinging the bats. Baby Bottomed out would take a quick 6-1 lead scoring two runs in the 1st and four runs in the 2nd with Sherita Cabrera and Tammy Mendiola igniting the offense.
The Tough Chicks would break open the game in the 2nd inning with nine walks and big hits from Stephanie Olivares and Jericha Casil leading the offense.
Baby Bottomed Out would try to answer but the lead was too much as the Tough Chicks would extend the lead in the 4th inning with inside the park homeruns from Margaret Cepeda, and back to back shots by Cammy Muna and Christina Rapolla.
Tough Chick’s Stephanie Olivares would pick up Strike Zone Player of the Game going 3 for 3 with 3 runs and 5 rbi and starting pitcher Danielle Preuc earns the win going three innings with four strikeouts as Tough Chicks start 1-0 on the season. Myah Quenga was 1-1 with two walks and three runs scored and Sherita Cabrera was1-2 with three runs scored and two rbi for Baby Bottomed Out who start the season 0-1.
The second game of the season between Lady Diamonds and Bottomed Out was suspended in the top of the 3rd inning due to rain with the Lady Diamonds up 2-1. The game will be completed at a later date in the season.
