If you don’t have any plans for this weekend and want to help the environment, you can ready yourself for a drive down south for a tree planting activity organized by the Guam Department of Agriculture’s Forestry Division.
According to a release, the division will be planting 4,000 trees in Merizo from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. this Saturday, Aug. 31.
Volunteers will meet along Route 4 in the As Gadao area and will be asked to park roadside until they are directed by personnel to the site.
Minors must be accompanied by an adult and all volunteers must wear appropriate clothing, have a water bottle and work gloves, and be prepared for almost a mile-long hike on flat terrain.
This event is the second of three planned planting seasons for this site and is funded by a grant provided by the USDA Forest Service.
