Tri-Intersection Paving Continues – Public Advised to Expect Traffic Lane Closures

Guam – The Department of Public Works has issued an advisory that final paving of the Barrigada Tri-Intersection is expected to continue beginning this Friday morning May 4, and throughout next week.  The DPW advises the public that numerous traffic shifts and lane closures will be required as the contractor, Kinden Corporation, lays the final asphalt topping and roadway striping along various sections of the intersection area.

The majority of the work will be accomplished during the off-peak hours of 9:00 am to 4:00 p.m. However, motorists are advised to expect significant delays and numerous lane shifting and closures when traveling through this area and are asked to please proceed with caution and obey all traffic control signs and flaggers posted along the construction zone.

“The last few weeks of this project will be tough on drivers traveling through the area, but we’re happy to finally see this project get completed”, said Joanne Brown, director of the DPW. “I thank the contractor, Kinden Corporation and their pavement subcontractor Nippo Corporation, for their flexibility in meeting our demand to absolutely minimize the impact to traffic flows during the morning and afternoon peak travel times.”

The DPW thanks the public for their continued patience and advises all motorists to seek alternate routes if possible and allow extra travel time.
