Triple J, the local distributor of Kia vehicles, is taking preventative action after Kia Motors America issued a safety recall (NHTSA ID 21V-137) for select vehicles not equipped with Smart Cruise Control.

In a statement, Triple J stressed: “Triple J cares about the safety of all our customers. We are aware of a U.S. recall on select model year 2017-2021 Kia Sportage and Cadenza vehicles. Additionally, there have been no cases reported in overseas regions, including Guam. For other countries outside of the USA, recall is now being prepared as preventive action by the manufacturer.”

The company added: “We have notified the owners of the six vehicles on Guam that may be affected by this recall. If you have any questions or concerns, you may contact our Service Department at 648-2277.”
