Tropical Disturbance Not Expected to Threaten Guam or Saipan, Civil Defense Reminds Residents to Be Prepared


Guam -Although a Tropical Cyclone Formation Alert has been issued for a developing Tropical Disturbance Northeast of the Marianas, it poses no immediate threat to Guam or the Marianas.   However, as a precaution, Guam Homeland Security and the Office of Civil Defense has issued the following reminder to island residents:

  • Motorist should exercise extreme caution while driving, as increased rain and ponding can create unsafe driving conditions.
  • Clear your yard from debris that may clog drainage systems and cause unnecessary flooding in your area.
  • Avoid beaches and waters as high surf and strong currents can be life threatening.
  • Continue to monitor local media for updated information.
