As of 8pm on Sunday Nepartak’s forecast track has it passing well south of the Marianas in-between Guam and the island of Ulithi in Yap State.
Guam – Tropical Storm Nepartak will cause some rainy and windy conditions on Guam but it’s not expected to be a threat to Guam and the Marianas.
As of 8pm on Sunday Nepartak’s forecast track has it passing well south of the Marianas in-between Guam and the island of Ulithi in Yap State. According to the National Weather Service Nepartak was located at 9.6N lattitude and 144.7E longitude or 265 miles south of Guam. It has 40 mph max sustained winds and its moving North at 5mph but it’s expected to begin turning Northwest. It’s expected to pass between Guam and Ulithi Monday afternoon. Nepartak may become a typhoon by early Tuesday morning.
Although TD Nepartak is forecast to remain south of Guam, it is expected to bring showers and some thunderstorms along with winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 30 mph to the Mariana Islands tonight and during the day on Monday.
