Trump declares CNMI a disaster area

The following information is from a press release posted on the CNMI Office of the Governor’s Facebook page.

US President Donald J. Trump approves Governor Ralph DLG. Torres’ & the CNMI Government’s Request for a Presidential Disaster Declaration triggering the availability of Public Assistance, Individual Assistance and Hazard Mitigation financial aid to be available for residents on Saipan, Tinian and Rota who were impacted by Super Typhoon Yutu.

Once sites are identified for Disaster Assistance is established, an announcement will be made.

LIVE Press Conference announcing the availability of federal aid for CNMI residents who sustained property damage as a result of Super Typhoon Yutu, and how the ongoing partnership between the CNMI Government, the Federal Emergency Management (FEMA), and the Dept. of Defense (DoD)’s collaboration is helping the response process move effectively towards recovery.
