Tumon VSO’s Now Have a Segway

Segway to Help VSO’s Patrol Tumon

Guam – Visitor Safety Officers now have a three wheel Segway that will help them patrol the island’s tourism district.

Visitor Safety Officers are private security guards hired by GovGuam to help deter crime in Tumon and provide help to tourists. G4S has been contracted by GovGuam to provide the VSO’s. The Segway was purchased for about $7 thousand dollars. It was paid for with government funds via the Guam Visitors Buruea.”This one elevates the operator to a height where they can scan the area a lot more easily than if they were on a bicycle seated or walking for that matter,” said Paul Suba of G4S. Suba says the Segway can even be used on sidewalks.
