Two New Young Candidates to Run For Senator

Guam – Two young new candidates have already announced that they are running for Senator.

 

 Regine Biscoe Lee has announced that she will be running as a Democrat in the 2016 legislative race. Lee was born and raised on Guam and grew up in the village of Barrigada. In 2009 she was named as one of the most influential women in the United States by the Filipino Ladies Association of Guam. She was elected delegate for Guam to the 2012 Democratic National Convention and in January of 2015 she was named the Guam Chamber of Commerce’s 2014 Regina A. Leddy young professional of the year.

 Also today Jermaine Alerta picked up a Guam Election Commission packet indicating his candidacy to run for the legislature. Alerta is also running on the Democratic ticket. Alerta has over a decade of experience in Government service. He has worked for Senators John Quinata, Dr. Mike Cruz, Mana Silva Taijeron and is currently working for Senator Mike San Nicolas. He has also worked the Executive branch under Lt. Governor Mike Cruz and Governor Felix Camacho. In 2015 he was recognized as one of the “Who’s Who” in the Government of Guam. Alerta was raised in the village of Agat.
