After Cabras 1 is complete, MEC units 8 and 9 will then experience their much needed overhauls.

Guam – Did you experience a power outage early this morning? GPA says it was due to two power plants tripping offline.

Guam Power Authority PIO Art Perez says that the Temes unit suffered a fault in the line transmission causing it and MEC unit 8 to trip offline. Perez says the power went out at 2am but circuits were restored by 2:50. Meanwhile, later this month, GPA is planning on shutting down Cabras 1 to install a new transformer, which will boost the power plants production to 60 megawatts. After Cabras 1 is complete, MEC units 8 and 9 will then experience their much needed overhauls.
