Two Weekend Auto-Pedestrian Accidents Under Investigation

Guam – Guam Police are investigating two auto-pedestrian accident that happened over the weekend.

A two-year old boy is in stable condition at Guam Memorial Hospital after he was struck by a vehicle that his mother was driving.  Guam Police Spokesman Officer A.J. Balajadia says officers were called to GMH to investigate at about 1pm Sunday after the boy was taken there.

The incident which was reported as an accident happened on the Miguel Street in Mangilao while the mother was backing up her van.  Balajadia says Guam Highway Patrol is investigating and its not known whether there will be charges.

“We need to figure out exactly what took place,” Balajadia said.  “Of Course Highway Patrol will consult with the Attorney General’s office and brief them on exactly what their findings are.  According to those findings they may proceed with with charges.”

Officers were called to another auto-pedestrian accident in Mangilao last night.  Balajadia says an 18-year old Mangilao resident was taken to the hospital after he was struck by a Toyota Tercel on Route 10.  Witnesses told police that the teen darted into traffic.
