The typhoon watch for Guam, Rota, Tinian and Saipan has been cancelled.
As of 8 this morning, according to Guam Homeland Security, Tropical Storm Bavi has weakened slightly.
However, a tropical storm warning is now in effect for Guam.
Tropical storm force winds of 39 mph or greater are expected from late this afternoon through early Monday morning.
Bavi is moving west northwest at 16 mph. National Weather Service says Bavi is forecast to turn West today on a track that will take the center over Guam late this evening. Maximum sustained winds have decreased to 50 mph. Bavi is expected to change little in intensity today through Monday.
Surf will also rise to hazardous levels this morning and build further to dangerous levels of 15 feet or more in the afternoon.
