Guam – The Guam Election Commission has been getting some assistance from the U.S. Election Assistance Commission.

GEC Executive Director Maria Pangelinan says U.S. Election Assistance Commissioner Christie McCormick was on Guam last week giving GEC some technical assistance with the Help America Vote Act or HAVA. Guam was given funding in 2006 and other prior years that could be made available to the GEC as soon as they update their certification. “So we have about 170 thousand dollars that can come to us and possibly help us with serving better people with disabilities,” said Pangelinan.

The CNMI’s election commission was also on Guam last week to receive some technical assistance with HAVA as well.
