Ugum Back On Line; But It’ll Still be No to Low Water for South Untill 10pm Tonight

Guam – The Guam Waterworks Authority reports that the Uguam Water Treatment Plant was put back on line as of  4am this morning [Wednesday].

It is now processing water for the southern villages.

But, a release from Spokesperson Heidi Ballendorf states that “due to the fragility of the system and the overwhelming demand, water levels are rising only slowly at this point in time.”

The villages that continue to suffering from low to no water pressure are  Ipan Talofofo, Talofofo and Inarajan. Service for the lower elevations of those villages is not expected to be restored until 10 pm tonight.

In addition, the higher elevations of  Merizo and Umatac are also experiencing  low to no water. Those areas will not be restored until 5 am Thursday morning.

Also, GWA crews have moved the water tanker from Inarajan Church to Inarajan Middle school.  All questions concerning school closures should be directed towards DOE.

For questions call GWA’s 24/7 water line number at 646-4211.
