Unexploded Ordinance Found In Dededo; Secured

Around 2:15p.m., the Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) received a report from 911 dispatch of a reported unexploded ordnance (UXO) found on an unnamed street along Route 3, Dededo.

The Guam Police Department and the Guam Fire Department arrived on scene and an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit was been requested.

The All Clear was issued at 3:54 p.m. The Andersen Air Force Base Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit, working with all partners, was able to safely assess and secure the ordnance.

All precautions were taken to ensure the safety of the public and responders involved.

GHS/OCD remind residents and visitors to practice the “3Rs of Explosive Safety” when any UXO is encountered:

 Recognize – when you may have encountered a munition and that munitions are dangerous.

 Retreat – do not approach, touch, move, or disturb it, but carefully leave the area.

 Report – call 911 and advise of what you saw and where you saw it.
