Around 3:35 p.m., the Offices of Guam Homeland Security and Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) received a report of a found unexploded ordnance (UXO) located on Chalan Mamis St., Yigo.
The Guam Police Department and the Guam Fire Department were notified. An Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit was requested. There were no evacuations or road closures.
The all-clear was issued at 5:05 p.m.
All precautions were taken to ensure the safety of the public and responders involved.
The area resumed normal operations.
GHS/OCD remind residents and visitors to practice the “3Rs of Explosive Safety” when any UXO or munition is encountered:
- Recognize – when you may have encountered a munition and that munitions are dangerous.
- Retreat – do not approach, touch, move, or disturb it, but carefully leave the area.
- Report – call 911 and advise of what you saw and where you saw it.
