Guam – United/Continental Airlines launched its new Okinawa service Wednesday night.
Acting Governor Ray Tenorio and Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo joined United Managing Director Barry Bergmann for the send off ceremony of Flight 146.
There are slated to be 4 flights weekly on Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. The flights will depart at 8:10 on those days with an arrival of 10:45 at night.
The return flights leave Okinawa at 11:45 pm and arrive back on Guam just after 4 in the morning.
United/Continental is flying a 737 next generation aircraft on the route. Okinawa now becomes the 10 Japanese city that United/ Continental provides non-stop service to from Guam.
