University of Hawaii switching to online classes March 23

(Pacific Business News) – Pacific Business News is reporting that the entire University of Hawaii system will be moving its classes online starting Monday, March 23.

PBN quotes UH President David Lassner who in a letter issued Thursday explained that the decision was made to go to online classes “out of concern for the safety of our students, faculty and staff.”

In his letter, PBN reports, Lassner thanked everyone who “shared questions and provided input over these last days,” adding “this has been a tumultuous week, with many changes in the COVID-19 situation in Hawaii, across higher education and globally, accelerating into today.”

The switch to online classes will begin after UH students end Spring Break, according to PBN.
