At 9:08 a.m., in an abundance of caution, the administrators at George Washington High School initiated a lockdown of the campus.
The Guam Police Department was contacted and conducted an on-site assessment of the campus and gave the “all clear” around 9:50 a.m.
The lockdown was lifted at 10:00 a.m. Students and employees are safe.
According to information shared in the GDOE Media/Public Information WhatsApp chat, Superintendent Jon Fernandez said “The lockdown was to address a student out of control and acting erratically.”
The student was removed from the campus.
