Guam – The University of Guam Board of Regents voted during their April 21 meeting to renew UOG President Robert A. Underwood’s contract through 2014.
“We are confident in Dr. Underwood’s leadership and his ability to move the university forward over the next three years,” said P. Sonny Ada, Chairman of the Board of Regents. “The university has achieved many positive milestones in the last several years including enrollment growth, a significant increase in grants and contracts, accreditation, and a sixth year of low-risk auditee status. The Board looks forward to another positive period of growth and accomplishments under Dr. Underwood’s leadership.”
“I am grateful to the Board of Regents for their confidence and I will continue to work with the excellent faculty, staff, and administrators at UOG to ensure that we provide quality education to our students and continue to engage in research that is meaningful to our island and our region,” said Underwood.
For the third consecutive year, the board also voted to install the following slate of officers: P. Sonny Ada, Chairman; W. Chris Perez, Vice Chairman; and Cynthia Henson, Treasurer. These officers will serve one-year terms.
