Guam- The University of Guam is hosting its second book launch for several recently published faculty this evening . UOG’s Troy McVeigh tells PNC they are featuring the published work of David Atienza, Helen Thompson and Jason Vest. Musical arrangements by Randall Johnson and published poetry by PK Harmon are also being featured. McVeigh explains the book launch showcases that professors do more than just teach students.
“Our Dean, James Sellmann of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, started this tradition about a year ago to help make people aware that professors do more than just teach our classes” said McVeigh. “We have to go out and we have to write books and we have to get them published. So this is our way of rewarding them. They get a little free food, a little bit of wine and just having a good time celebrating the work that people are doing.”
McVeigh also says the “Enchanting Tales of Guam” may be featured by Guamology Inc. The event is on the 3rd floor of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences building in the Professional Development Room. It started since 6 pm this evening.
