UOG ROTC Spring 2013 Commissioning Ceremony

Guam – The University of Guam’s Senior Reserve Officer Training Corps recently commissioned 9 Second Lieutenants into the United States Army.

The Commissioning Ceremony was held at the Micronesian Ballroom, Hilton Guam Resort Hotel on May 25, 2013. The commissioning ceremony for the newly Commissioned Second Lieutenants was a ceremony prior to their graduation from the University of Guam with their respective bachelor’s degrees.

Hundreds of their fellow students, families, and academic staff shared in the solemn ceremony that officially made these fine young individuals among the newest officers in the United States Army. This ceremony is a testament of their hard work and dedication to the University, the islands of Saipan, Tinian, and Guam, and to the ROTC program. Each Newly Commissioned Officer has been assessed and will pursue their military career as a 2LT in the United States Army.

* 2LT Lloyd Abigania has been assessed active duty and has been branched detailed into Infantry.  He will attend his BOLC-B course at Ft. Benning, Georgia.  Upon completion of this course, he will then report to his first duty station which is to be determined. After completing his branch detail he will then continue his term as a military intelligence officer.

* 2LT Maria Bais has been assessed active duty and has been branched into Finance.  She will attend her BOLC-B course at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina.  Upon completion of this course, she will then report to her first duty station in Korea.

* 2LT Matthew Cabrera has been assessed active duty and has been branched into the Quartermaster Corps.  He will attend his BOLC-B course at Ft. Lee, Virginia.  Upon completion of this course, he will then report to his first duty station at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri.

* 2LT Shuai Chen has been assessed active duty and has been branched into Infantry. He will attend his BOLC-B course at Ft. Benning, Georgia.  Upon completion of this course, he will then report to his first duty station at Ft. Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

* 2LT Alejandro Diaz has been assessed active duty and has been branched into the Engineer Corps.  He will attend his BOLC-B course at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri.  Upon completion of this course, he will then report to his first duty station at Ft. Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

* 2LT Quintin Duenas has been assessed reserve force duty and has been branched into the Engineer Corps. He will attend his BOLC-B course at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. Upon completion of this course, he will then return to Guam to serve his island and country in the United States Army Reserve.

* 2LT Lee Ignacio has been assessed active duty and has been branched into the Engineer Corps.  He will attend his BOLC-B course at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri.  Upon completion of this course, he will then report to his first duty station which is to be determined.

* 2LT John-Eddie Moser has been assessed active duty and has been branched into the Military Police Corps. He will attend her BOLC-B course at ft. Leonard wood, Missouri.  Upon completion of this course, he will then report to his first duty station in Korea.

* 2LT Peter Sakisat has been assessed national guard and has been branched into Infantry.  He will attend his BOLC-B course at Ft. Benning, Georgia.  Upon completion of this course, he will then return to Guam to serve his island and country in the Guam Army National Guard.
