Guam – For the last 49 years, the island community comes together to celebrate Charter Day, the largest public event at the University of Guam.
UOG Tritons came out in full force today proudly showcasing their UOG spirit.
This year’s theme? Tritons United.
The campus courtyard transformed into a community playground, with food vendors, live entertainment, and activities across the lawn. But it’s more than just an event to get-together with the students, faculty, and fellow alumni. President Robert Underwood tells PNC that Charter Day also serves as their biggest student orientation opportunity.
Over 5,000 people were projected to have attended the event, according to Jonas Macapinlac, the Director of Communications for UOG.
The event also served to highlight some of the projects and ammenties at the university such as the Isla Center for the Arts showcased an Art-a-Thon and special presentations at their marine lab.
