Guam – Super Typhoon Yutu as of 4:00 pm was located 13.9N 147.1E
Super Typhoon Yutu continues to encroach on the Mariana region, continuing its west-northwestward track, increasing in speeds of 12 mph. This current track is expected to be maintained, bringing Yutu just south of Tinian by early tomorrow morning. At it’s closes point of approach, meteorologists from the National Weather Service expect it to be an extremely dangerous category 5 typhoon.
The super typhoon is expected to intensify through Friday, starting with 150 mph wind speeds, anticipated to become a category 5 typhoon by the time it makes it’s way past Tinian.
125 miles southeast of Tinian and Saipan (Typhoon Warning with Typhoon conditions expected tonight through late Thursday morning.)
130 miles east of Rota (Typhoon Warning with Typhoon conditions expected tonight through late Thursday morning.)
160 miles east of Guam (Tropical Storm Warning with Tropical Storm conditions expected for Guam late this afternoon through Thursday night.)
A flash flood is also in effect for all four Mariana islands.
