Marianas – Buenas yan Hafa Adai, here is a look at the progress of Tropical Storm 27W as it passes Guam.
*** Tropical Storm 27W intensifies slightly as a tropical storm watch remains in effect but may soon be lifted, for Guam, Rota & its surrounding coastal waters. It’s current location is 205 mile South-southwest of Guam & 260 miles SSW of Rota. Maximum sustained winds are at 45 mph with it’s present movement West-northwest at 300 degrees at 13 mph. It has neared it’s approach 200 miles Southwest of Guam & will be moving into the Philippine Sea tonight & Wednesday. Therefore, the worst of Tropical Storm 27W will pass by late Wednesday, to potentially calm by Thursday.
*** High Surf Warning remains in effect until 10 pm this evening. For North & West facing reefs, dangerous surf of 12-16 ft. will occur today & tonight. It will however decrease by midnight but will still stay hazardous through Wednesday, then slowly subside by Wednesday night.
*** A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6 pm this evening with winds up to 35 mph are expected. It is advised that you secure are light items around your home & be mindful on the road.
*** A Small-Craft Advisory remains in effect from 10 pm this evening to 6 pm on Wednesday. Seas of 10-15 ft. will briefly rise to 15-20 ft. this afternoon & this evening as Tropical Storm 27W passes near the Marianas.
