U.S. DOT Awards $146.4K Grant to Guam for Highway Safety

Guam – The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) has awarded $146,417 in Federal grant assistance to the Government of Guam.

The funding received will assist the Government of Guam for road and traffic safety efforts.

The grant was awarded through the State Highway and Community Grant Program administered by the National Highway and Safety Administration. The program is intended to help states and communities develop and implement highway safety programs designed to reduce traffic accidents, deaths, injuries and property damage.

“This grant will assist GovGuam in improving the safety of our island’s roads,” said Congresswoman Bordallo. “The funds will be used to implement highway safety programs and other road improvements on Guam.  It is important that Guam continue to improve our roadway system to reduce traffic fatalities across the island.   I look forward to these federal funds benefitting our community.”
