Guam – The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is seeking comment on the prevailing wage rates proposed by the Guam Department of Labor.
The rates proposed by Guam DOL are for construction workers who would be hired under the H-2B temporary worker program to build the Military Buildup.
According to the posting, GovGuam has defined 17 construction worker categories and proposes pay ranges from $11.61 to $17.62 for those categories.
The current construction wage rates range from $10.98 to $16.80 and they will remain in effect until the new prevailing wage rates are formally approved.
The public has 30 days—from March 17, 2011, to April 18, 2011—to submit comments on this proposal, which is available for viewing at www.regulations.gov.
Once final, new prevailing wage rates will be effective at a date to be announced by USCIS.
