USS Ashland to Arrive in Saipan With Relief Supplies By Friday Night or Saturday Morning


USS Ashland Brining Nine Forty Foot Containers of Supplies to Saipan to Help with Disaster Relief Efforts

Guam – The USS Ashland is on it’s way to Saipan to transport relief supplies.



 The Navy dock landing amphibious ship usually carries marines and their equipment but is now carrying water, food, basic shelter supplies and electrical power generation equipment to help Saipan with their recovery efforts from typhoon Soudelor. There are at least 73 thousand bottles of water on board and various other supplies that have been donated by the American Red Cross and various other entities and businesses on Guam the navy and a marine expeditionary unit should be landing in Saipan by tonight or tomorrow morning. Most recently the Ashland assisted in the Philippines following the 2013 typhoon Haiyan disaster.
