Guam – Vice Speaker Benjamin J.F. Cruz sent a letter to island Veterans Organizations informing them of U.S. Veteran Affairs Secretary Erik K. Shinseki’s decision to expand the list of diseases that are presumed to be developed through contact with Agent Orange.
U.S. Veterans Affairs now recognizes ischemic heart disease, Parkinson’s disease, and chronic b-cell leukemias as conditions VA officials can now presume in Vietnam War veterans.
A current list of diseases related to Agent Orange exposure may be found at www.publichealth.va.gov/exposures/agentorange/diseases.asp
