Vice Speaker Advises Island Veterans of New Diseases Blamed on Agent Orange


Guam – Vice Speaker Benjamin J.F. Cruz sent a letter to island Veterans Organizations informing them of U.S. Veteran Affairs Secretary Erik K. Shinseki’s decision to expand the list of diseases that are presumed to be developed through contact with Agent Orange.

U.S. Veterans Affairs now recognizes ischemic heart disease, Parkinson’s disease, and chronic b-cell leukemias as conditions VA officials can now presume in Vietnam War veterans.
