Guam – In response to an email inquiry from PNC News for his position on the proposed $20-thousand dollar Senatorial salary increase, Vice Speaker B.J. Cruz told us that he does “not support the proposed Senatorial salary increase.”
In addition, Senator Cruz questioned how the proposal became a part of the Hay pay plan submitted by the Governor.
He says it was not part of the original 2010 Hay Study.
The Senator points out that no member of the legislature received any “any questionnaire/survey that Hay uses to determine a proposed salary.”
“I do not know how DOA could have determined the recommended salary” he said.
