Guam – Vice Speaker B.J. Cruz has sent a letter to Guam Fire Chief Dave Peredo thanking him for responding to his Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request but Cruz says, the documents he got are incomplete.
In a release, the Vice-Speaker says the FOIA request he sent “specifically asked for a copy of the 201 0 Assistance to Fire Fighters grant application, as well as documentation related to finds received from the Department of Interior.”
“These documents were not submitted.” states Cruz.
The Vice Speaker says he has been following up with the Guam Fire Department for months to ensure that applications are made to Federal programs in hopes of securing additional funding to help the Department.

Re: Request for copy of 2010 Assistance to Firefighters Grant & Department of Interior grantlfunding documentation
Dear Chief Peredo,
Thank you for your response to my Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request regarding the AFG, Department of Interior, and SAFER grant applications.
I reviewed the checklist of items provided by you against the items I requested and found that the grant application for the 2010 Assistance to Fire Fighters was not included. The application had a due date of Friday, May 28,201 0. Please provide me a copy of this grant application.
In the same FOIA request, I also asked for documents and application made to the Department of the Interior for your department. There was no information provided about any funding from the Department of the Interior included. Please provide me a copy of all documents related to this
funding source related to your department. Thank you for your assistance, and I look forward to your response.
Benjamin J. F. Cmz
