Guam – Vice Speaker B.J. Cruz is proposing the creation of an Academic Travel Fund.
In a release the Vice Speaker says he introduced Bill # 452 in an effort to provide a better education for Guam’s students.
The bill would create an Academic Travel Fund to allow public and private school students to attend off-island academic events. The Fund would provide a funding source for travel expenses for students to attend conferences and competitions.
Bill No. 452-30 is the result of a project undertaken by Joel Tribaudini, a student at St. Thomas Aquinas High School. Tribaudini interned over the summer with Vice Speaker Cruz’s office. His comprehensive research work this summer played a significant role in the creation of this legislation.
Vice Speaker Cruz presented Joel Tribaudini with a Legislative Commendation today in recognition of his service to the community as an unpaid intern with the Vice Speaker’s office and for his work that led to Bill No. 452’s introduction.
Tribaudini filed the bill himself with the Clerk of the Legislature this afternoon.
