Guam – One woman is dead after a car struck a pedestrian on Rt. 10 in Mangilao.
The victim was pronounced dead at 09:35 this morning by Naval Hospital Authorities. According to Naval Hospital PAO Brayton Metzger, the patient was in traumatic arrest while en route to the hospital and she suffered multiple “non-survivable” injuries. The Guam police departments highway patrol division is currently investigating the fatal crash. Rt. 10 was closed for close to three hours as GPD gathered evidence, conducted interviews and mapped the scene.
“At around 9:35 a.m. this date, the victim was pronounced dead. She had succumbed to her injuries and she was pronounced dead by the attending physician at NRMC. Now the Guam highway patrol investigators are handling this case. At the time of the crash the roads were dry and traffic was moderate to heavy. The speed, alcohol and drugs have yet to be determined pending the preliminary investigation for highway investigators,” said Tapao.
Officer Tapao says the investigation is still open.
