VIDEO: UOG Asks For More, as ARRA Funding Expires

Guam – The University of Guam is asking lawmakers for $800-thousand dollars more than what Governor Calvo requested in his FY 2013 budget submission.

During the ongoing budget hearings at the legislature Tuesday, UOG President Dr. Robert Underwood explained that UOG needs additional funding this coming year because the federal ARRA funding,  which has helped make up for rising costs in recent years, will no longer be available after September.

The budget hearings resume on Friday when the Guam Judiciary will make its presentation before the Legislature’s Appropriations Committee.
